About The Position

The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for all aspects of the company’s e-commerce business as a revenue channel, including the platform, the product catalog, the buying experience, and the results. This role will evaluate the current platform, recommend improvements and efficiencies, coordinate changes, grow online orders, complete quote requests, and manage account self-service tools. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how industrial buyers shop, including searching by part number, specifications, and application. This role is responsible for making tens of thousands of supplier SKUs easy for customers to find while keeping product information organized, accurate, and easy for our team to maintain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in E-Commerce, Business, Marketing, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years in ecommerce, with at least 3 in B2B (distribution, manufacturing, or industrial supply strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience managing a B2B commerce platform day to day.
  • Track record of leading a platform implementation or major site migration through launch.
  • Strong grasp of product information management: taxonomy, attributes, and keeping large catalogs clean.
  • Working knowledge of ERP integration concepts, contract pricing, and B2B account structures.
  • Comfort with analytics tools (such as GA4) and turning data into clear recommendations.
  • Project and vendor management skills, including budgets and timelines.
  • Clear communicator who can translate between sales, IT, marketing, and leadership.
  • Experience with a PIM system.
  • Basic HTML/CSS and comfort working alongside developers.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the current e-commerce platform and recommend how to proceed, whether optimizing what we have or moving to a new B2B commerce/CMS platform, then lead the chosen path, coordinating vendors, agencies, and internal IT.
  • Accountable for integrations with ERP, pricing, inventory, and order management so customers see accurate contract pricing, availability, and order status.
  • Manage the platform roadmap, budget, release schedule, and vendor relationships after launch.
  • Set standards for product data: taxonomy, attributes, specs, cross-references, images, datasheets, and compliance documents.
  • Build repeatable processes for onboarding supplier SKU data and keep it current.
  • Improve site search, filtering, and navigation so buyers find parts by part number, brand, spec, or application.
  • Deliver B2B features buyers expect: account-specific pricing, quick order and reorder, RFQ/quote requests, order history, and multi-user accounts.
  • Promote fabrication and converting capabilities online so custom-part inquiries reach the right team.
  • Partner with marketing on SEO, paid search, email, and campaigns that drive qualified traffic.
  • Run A/B tests and usability reviews to raise conversion and reduce friction.
  • Work with inside and outside sales so the website supports account relationships.
  • Train sales and customer service on site tools and gather their feedback.
  • Track and report KPIs: online revenue, conversion rate, quote volume, search success, account adoption, and catalog quality.
