About The Position

The Finance Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of financial management across Coptic Orphans, ensuring financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and effective resource allocation across all country operations. This role is responsible for directing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and control functions, while establishing strong financial governance frameworks and systems. The Finance Director partners with leadership to support organizational strategy through financial insights, risk management, and long-term planning, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies across all countries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification required.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including leadership roles.
  • Strong experience in nonprofit financial management and multi-country operations.
  • Deep knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience across diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the organization's financial strategy, aligning financial planning with organizational goals.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes across all operations.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify risks and opportunities to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Establish and oversee financial policies, procedures, and internal control systems to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
  • Lead risk management efforts, ensuring appropriate financial controls and mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Oversee compliance with local and international regulatory requirements across all country offices.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of financial reporting and financial systems.
  • Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting processes.
  • Direct the preparation and consolidation of financial statements across all country offices.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Manage cash flow planning, treasury activities, and financial resources effectively.
  • Lead and develop finance and accounting teams across multiple countries.
  • Oversee external and internal audit processes, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and tools, including system enhancements or implementations.
  • Support organizational initiatives by providing financial leadership on strategic projects.
