About The Position

The Finance & Accounting Leadership Development Program (FALDP) Internship is designed to attract and develop motivated students who are passionate about pursuing a career in finance and accounting. This internship provides a valuable foundation for future success by offering hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to a diverse range of finance disciplines within the organization. As a FALDP intern, you'll be exposed to the dynamic world of property and casualty insurance while building technical skills, professional competencies, and business insight. You'll also participate in development programming, networking events, and community outreach initiatives that connect you with peers and leaders across the organization. The intent of this position is to provide our 2026 Travelers Summer Interns and Summer Students the ability to apply to our 2027 Full-time or Intern opportunities. Applications outside of this audience will not be considered at this time. However, for additional positions posted at a later date, we encourage anyone who was not a Summer Intern or Summer Student between June 2026–August 2026 to apply at that time.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance or a related business field.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or greater.
  • Eligible for full-time hire or a repeat internship within one year of completing this current internship.
  • Willingness to relocate to Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential through internships, extracurricular activities, or work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to excellence, integrity, and continuous growth.
  • Strong work ethic and a high level of critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Internship assignments will provide real-world exposure in one or more of the following areas: Accounting and Controllership, Auditing and Internal Controls, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Financial Reporting and Modeling, Corporate Audit, Corporate Tax.
  • You will work on projects that build technical skills, business insight, and professional competencies critical to success in finance and accounting roles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
