About The Position

The Finance/Accounting Specialist I provides contractor support to NOAA Fisheries offices in financial and administrative functions. The role reviews financial statements and reports, reconciles financial data and supporting documents, verifies records, prepares basic financial reports and exhibits, and researches routine discrepancies. The position is fully on site in Silver Spring, Maryland. Candidates may undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; U.S. citizenship may be a prerequisite for certain roles.

Requirements

0 to 2 years of experience in a related field.
BS/BA degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Review financial statements and reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established accounting classifications.
Reconcile financial reports and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, or errors.
Verify financial data for accuracy and ensure information is properly documented and maintained.
Prepare basic financial statements and reports according to established guidelines and procedures.
Research and resolve routine discrepancies in financial records and supporting documentation.
Prepare tables, charts, spreadsheets, and other financial exhibits for reports and presentations.
Organize and compile financial information to support reporting and management review.
Perform other duties as assigned.
