About The Position

AIT Worldwide Logistics is seeking contractor teams in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area to provide final-mile delivery, assembly, and repair services. Work includes basketball hoop delivery and installation, fitness equipment delivery and assembly or repair, and other categories such as furniture, home goods, and seasonal items. Contractors choose which available jobs to accept, based on their team’s skills, equipment, and AIT requirements. The posting states potential annual earnings of $40,000–$100,000 or more, based on location and the work accepted, with weekly settlements. Most delivery and assembly work requires a two-person team consisting of a driver and helper. Assembly-only and repair jobs may be performed by one person. A vehicle is required for delivery work, but not for assembly-only or repair work. Contractor teams must provide and maintain their tools and vehicles, meet AIT’s vehicle, registration, insurance, and compliance requirements, and use mobile applications to complete orders. Available services include assembling products at customers’ homes; picking up products from local retailers, delivering them, and assembling them to manufacturer specifications; and repairing products at customers’ homes according to manufacturer instructions using manufacturer-provided parts. Products include portable and in-ground basketball hoops, treadmills, ellipticals and similar fitness equipment, ready-to-assemble furniture and home goods, and backyard products such as playsets, pergolas, gazebos, grills, and patio sets.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record.
Physical ability and skill to deliver and assemble products according to manufacturer specifications.
Ability to use mobile applications to complete orders.
Provide and maintain tools and vehicles used to complete orders; vehicles are not required for assembly-only or repair work.
Must have an EIN.
Must comply with AIT’s vehicle, registration, and insurance requirements.
Must provide a certificate of insurance (COI) that meets AIT requirements.
Two-person contractor team for most work, typically a driver and helper; assembly-only and repair work may be one-person jobs.
AIT conducts background checks and drug screens for all owners, drivers, and helpers.
DOT compliance; an MC number is required for some interstate work.

Responsibilities

Perform assembly-only work at customers’ homes according to manufacturer specifications.
Pick up products from local retailers, deliver them to customers’ homes, and assemble them according to manufacturer specifications.
Repair products at customers’ homes according to manufacturer instructions using manufacturer-provided parts.
Provide and maintain the tools and vehicles used to complete accepted orders.
Use mobile applications to complete orders.
Accept only jobs that match the team’s skills, equipment, and AIT requirements.
