Final Mile Delivery, Assembly, Repair Contractor Teams - Pittsburgh PA
About The Position
AIT Worldwide Logistics is seeking contractor teams in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area to join its Final Mile Service Provider Network. Contractors can choose which jobs to accept based on their team’s skills, equipment, and AIT requirements. Work includes basketball hoop delivery and installation, fitness equipment delivery and assembly or repair, and other final-mile categories such as furniture, home goods, and seasonal items. Earnings are stated as $40,000–$100,000+ annually, depending on location and the work accepted, with weekly settlements. Most delivery work is performed by a two-person team consisting of a driver and helper. A pick-up, van, sprinter, or small box truck is needed for delivery work, but not for assembly-only or repair work. Contractors may receive assembly-only, delivery-and-assembly, or repair orders. Assembly and repair can be one-person work; delivery and assembly requires a two-person team. Work must follow manufacturer specifications or instructions.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
- Physical ability and skills to deliver and assemble products according to manufacturer specifications.
- Ability to use mobile applications to complete orders.
- Provide and maintain tools and vehicle(s) used to complete orders, when applicable.
- Possess an EIN.
- Comply with AIT’s vehicle, registration, and insurance requirements.
- Provide a certificate of insurance (COI) that meets AIT requirements.
- Meet DOT compliance requirements; an MC number is required for some interstate work.
- All owners, drivers, and helpers are subject to background checks and drug screens.
- A two-person contractor team (driver and helper) is needed for most delivery work.
Responsibilities
- Accept and complete only jobs that match the contractor team’s skills, equipment, and AIT requirements.
- Deliver and install basketball hoops, including portable and in-ground models.
- Deliver and assemble fitness equipment and ready-to-assemble furniture or home goods at customers’ homes.
- Repair fitness equipment according to manufacturer instructions using manufacturer-provided parts.
- Assemble backyard products, including playsets, pergolas, gazebos, grills, and patio sets, as assigned.
- Use mobile applications to complete orders.
- Provide and maintain the tools and vehicles used to complete accepted orders.
- Meet AIT’s vehicle, registration, insurance, and other applicable compliance requirements.
