Entry Level Manufacturing - Film Tech 3 pm to 11 pm
About The Position
Amcor Flexibles’ facility at 2111 3rd Avenue in Mankato, Minnesota, is hiring an entry-level Film Tech for its film extrusion team. The role supports day-to-day manufacturing floor operations, with responsibilities including safe work practices, packaging products, equipment setup and operation, production changeovers, documentation, and identifying and troubleshooting production issues. The schedule is an eight-hour shift, Monday through Friday, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Starting pay is $22.99 per hour, with step increases up to $28.74 per hour. A $1.75 differential is paid for hours worked between 3 p.m. and 7 a.m. The position requires following plant safety rules and wearing safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection. Employees must comply with the company’s in-house training program and perform ISO procedures according to the training plan.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or prior film extrusion experience or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Math calculation skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Wear safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
Responsibilities
- Work safely and understand and follow plant safety rules.
- Assist material handlers with packaging rolls.
- Assist with and perform equipment setup, operation, and changeovers.
- Perform quality tests as required by product specifications.
- Help other associates and perform other duties as assigned.
- Complete documentation related to job duties and production accounting.
- Identify and solve production problems.
- Apply knowledge of product end uses and how production can affect them.
- Maintain appropriate quantities of required supplies.
- Perform ISO procedures according to the training plan.
- Comply with the in-house training program.
