About The Position

The File Clerk provides administrative and organizational support to the Estate Planning department by maintaining client files, managing document organization, and assisting attorneys, paralegals, and staff with file retrieval and document processing. This role ensures accurate recordkeeping and efficient document management for estate planning matters including wills, trusts, probate, and related legal documents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently in Windows-based computer applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a file scanning clerk is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Scan and digitize legal documents and client files.
  • Ensure all documents are properly labeled, indexed, and stored in the firm’s electronic document management system.
  • Organize and maintain physical client files and records.
  • Assist attorneys, paralegals, and staff with document retrieval and file distribution.
  • Perform quality control checks on scanned documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure documents are scanned and uploaded in a timely and organized manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information and records.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
