About The Position

Connected Technology is seeking a dependable, professional Field Services Technician to provide hands-on IT infrastructure and client support for businesses, nonprofit organizations, emergency service organizations, and public agencies throughout Long Island. The role involves installing and deploying technology, resolving onsite hardware, software, Microsoft 365, networking, and connectivity problems, and providing onsite support to senior engineers. The technician is expected to maintain accurate documentation and deliver an exceptional client experience.

Requirements

1–3+ years of experience in IT, low-voltage, telecom, field service, or a related area.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to think independently and solve problems.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and use ladders safely.
Reliable, professional, adaptable, well spoken, positive, and committed to delivering an exceptional client experience.

Responsibilities

Run, terminate, label, and test Cat5e/Cat6 cabling.
Install cameras, access control devices, wireless access points, switches, and firewalls.
Deploy computers, laptops, printers, and phones.
Assist with office moves and technology refresh projects.
Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, and connectivity issues.
Resolve hardware and software problems onsite.
Act as onsite support for senior engineers and follow guidance from Level 2 and Level 3 engineers.
Document work in the ticketing platform.
Provide professional, customer-focused support to clients.
