About The Position

This role involves providing moderate to advanced-level onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical and automation solutions. The Field Service Engineer II will collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. This position offers opportunities for advancement and learning specialized automated or robotic products, while also allowing the engineer to develop an understanding of pharmacy and nursing workflows and the impact of medication management systems on efficiency and cost reduction. The role requires independent performance of duties, communication with director-level staff, and tackling problems of advanced scope, with an expectation to provide coaching and mentoring to others.

Requirements

Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
Experience working in a hospital environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or a related discipline AND one year of relevant experience; OR Associate's Degree/Trade School Certification/Military Training in an Engineering/Technology related discipline, AND four years of relevant experience; OR seven years equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical devices and Quality Management Systems.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to approximately 5 ft. high.
Available 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday, and for weekend on-call rotations.
Frequent local travel in the primary area.
Backup support in adjacent areas as needed.
Provide work area at home and space for trunk stock inventory.
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to meet Omnicell's insurance coverage requirements.
Must have their own vehicle in acceptable working condition.

Responsibilities

Independently perform onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical and automation solutions.
Regularly communicate with director-level nursing and pharmacy staff and tackle problems of advanced scope.
Provide coaching and mentoring as needed.
Thoroughly document all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures.
Meet company guidelines for response time and service levels.
Escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues through support channels.
Participate in various staff meetings.
Maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.
Manage parts inventory and return materials process.
