About The Position

The Field Services Engineer II is a remote role supporting East Pennsylvania, specifically the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes. The engineer will apply mechanical skills in a dynamic healthcare environment, interact with healthcare professionals, and contribute to optimizing healthcare delivery, directly impacting patient lives. Opportunities for advancement and learning specialized automated or robotic products are available. The role requires independently performing onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical and automation solutions. The engineer will communicate with director-level nursing and pharmacy staff, tackle problems of advanced scope, and provide coaching and mentoring as needed. Shared responsibilities include thoroughly documenting all service events, meeting company guidelines for response time and service levels, escalating product issues, participating in staff meetings, maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction, and managing parts inventory. The role requires the ability to lift 50 lbs., availability 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday, and for weekend on-call rotations, frequent local travel, and backup support in adjacent areas. The selected individual must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, meet Omnicell's insurance coverage requirements, and have their own vehicle in acceptable working condition. A home work area and space for trunk stock inventory are also required.

Requirements

  • Coursework in Network Engineering, Robotics, or Electronics.
  • Experience working in a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to meet Omnicell's insurance coverage requirements.
  • Must have own vehicle in acceptable working condition.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or a related discipline AND one year of relevant experience; OR Associate's Degree/Trade School Certification/Military Training in an Engineering/Technology related discipline, AND four years of relevant experience; OR seven years equivalent experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic, mechanical, or computer devices.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical devices and Quality Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform onsite troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance of Omnicell's electro-mechanical and automation solutions.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring as needed.
  • Thoroughly document all service events according to Omnicell's policies and procedures.

  • Escalate product bugs, malfunctions, and design issues through support channels.
  • Participate in various staff meetings.
  • Maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage parts inventory and return materials process.
