About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on rental equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may include large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The role may involve working at challenging remote locations, indoors or outdoors as required, and supporting a safety-focused team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work with hydraulic systems and troubleshoot them.
• Ability to work with electrical systems and troubleshoot them.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
• A CDL license and being at least 21 years of age may be required in some locations.
• Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training.
• 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
