This is an emerging-to-mid-level technician role for someone developing technical skills while delivering a strong customer experience. The technician works under the mentorship of senior technicians and leadership to support electric vehicle repairs, inspections, and field service operations. The role is based primarily at a local service center, but may also involve remote work, mobile service travel, or support for plant operations as business needs change. The technician performs or assists with vehicle diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections; learns Rivian’s product line, EV systems, tools, and accessories; follows technical procedures and safety requirements; road-tests vehicles after repairs; supports parts and work-order operations; and maintains detailed repair documentation. The role also involves professional customer and supplier interactions, identifying opportunities to improve processes, participating in service campaigns, and completing ongoing training. The position requires availability for a standard 40-hour workweek, with shifts that may include weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, or overnights based on business needs, as well as regional or production-facility travel when needed.
