About The Position

The Field Service Technician holds full responsibility for the success of after-sales and warranty service across the Northeastern territory, which includes Main, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Operating remotely, the individual will serve as the primary point of contact and technical expert for our comprehensive portfolio of servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems. This role is critical in ensuring we achieve high levels of customer satisfaction by reinforcing our commitment to service excellence throughout the region.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 5–7 years of field-based experience in electronic instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated adherence to workplace safety standards and best practices.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Flexible and adaptable with strong organizational skills; willing to work outside normal business hours when needed.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Navision and Dynamics CRM is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Ability to travel within the United States up to 70% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote technical support via telephone and ticketing system
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and full diagnostics of mechanical & electrical system failures
  • Provide formal service quotes to customers
  • Conduct full system testing and calibrations after repairs
  • Manage individual service cases regularly to meet departmental metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage travel schedule and expenses in line with ITW guidelines
  • Support service growth with the region
