About The Position

Boon Edam is hiring a traveling Field Service Technician to provide technical support for installation, service, and maintenance of Boon Edam products. The position covers the U.S. Northeast, specifically NY, NJ, PA, and CT, and involves travel approximately 75% of the time. The technician works with contractors, subcontractors, end users, and Boon Edam’s Customer Support team, and must be able to work independently from the factory.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in electrical/electronic theory, plant maintenance, or a similar area.
• Hold a current U.S. driver's license and be capable of obtaining a U.S. passport for international travel.
• Ability to travel 75% of the time.
• Electrical skills, including low-voltage electronics and high-voltage electrical theory.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Electrical circuit troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong mechanical installation skills, including layout, assembly, and tie-in.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and construction drawings.
• Experience using hand tools such as cordless drills, hammers, and levels.
• Telephone skills and strong verbal and written communication.
• Attention to detail.
• Microsoft Office skills and PC and Internet Explorer knowledge.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to pass frequent OSHA, background, and drug screens.

Responsibilities

• Provide Boon Edam product service and support by telephone and through site visits within the branch area.
• Work with general contractors, subcontractors, and end users to install Boon Edam products professionally, safely, and efficiently.
• Work remotely with the Boon Edam Customer Support team.
• Train less experienced installation and service technicians.
• Record and track installation and support materials for project record keeping.
• Receive assignments and work independently from the factory.
