About The Position

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing a wide range of repairs and fabrications on heavy equipment and vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The technician will also be involved in mentoring and training other team members.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization, or combination of schooling and minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in heavy equipment and/or automotive.
  • Valid Driver’s License that meets requirements.
  • Valid CDL (type dependent on work location).
  • At least 8 ASE Certifications in on-road or combination of other formal training.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Ability to work varied hours including overtime as needed.

  • Leadership training is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and utilize leadership skills is a must.
  • Crane Inspector Certification as needed by location.

Responsibilities

  • Perform major mechanical engine repairs, including overhauls.
  • Perform transmission repairs, including rebuilds.
  • Perform driveline repairs, including undercarriage rebuilds.
  • Make complicated repairs and modifications to various trucks.
  • Work with complicated electrical and hydraulic systems and utilize electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Build and retrofit hydraulic systems for various equipment.
  • Plan and complete major fabrication projects, including water systems, structural components, and specifically designed field use equipment.
  • Build and install electrical systems, including emergency shutdowns and new controls on various equipment.
