About The Position

United Rentals Commercial and Utility Trucks is seeking a skilled and dedicated Road Service Utility Truck Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel or truck mechanic, with hands-on experience on buckets, and hydraulic systems
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with relevant endorsements is required or must be obtained
Experience with a wide range of utility equipment is a plus, including cranes, pulling and stringing equipment and dielectric testing equipment
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as a team
Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment
Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
More than five years of experience in equipment and tool repair or maintenance.
Advanced mechanical skills and hands-on knowledge of tools.
In-depth knowledge of construction equipment and advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Possession of applicable tools for the position is mandatory.
Superior customer service skills, teamwork, and the ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to 20 kg (45 lb).

Experience with a wide range of utility equipment is a plus, including cranes, pulling and stringing equipment and dielectric testing equipment

Responsibilities

Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide variety of diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, such as dump trucks, bucket trucks, and specialty utility vehicles.
Troubleshoot and repair complex issues within hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and braking systems.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tire service, and lubrication, to maximize fleet longevity and performance.
Utilize diagnostic software and technical manuals to identify malfunctions and determine the best course of action.
Perform welding and fabrication for equipment repair and modification as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely service records, repair logs, and documentation.
Ensure all work complies with federal, state, and company safety standards and procedures.
Perform annual DOT and Dielectric testing on insulated equipment.
Ensure the maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a wide range of rental or customer equipment, demonstrating a high degree of independent judgment.
Travel to the customer's worksite to repair or maintain their equipment or rented equipment (you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and presentability of the service vehicle).
Participate in the training of junior technicians, as needed.
Maintain exhaustive written or electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily within the prescribed deadlines.
Participate in the pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
Perform other duties as requested based on needs.
