The Field Service Technician II - Utilities role involves conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires attending and successfully completing required technician training classes, and maintaining a necessary set of tools for job performance to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components to manufacturer's specifications. The technician will diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. A key aspect of the role is working in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways to improve methods of work, work areas, and safety standards. The technician will inspect components to ensure maximum parts are reused to control repair costs and complete required documentation using appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment and account for repair times. Monitoring job expenses versus repair estimates and informing the supervisor of any cost overruns before job completion is also crucial. The role emphasizes approaching work positively, maintaining supportive conduct within the team, and setting standards for others. Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations, and training or mentoring others in the department are also expected. Other duties as assigned will be performed.
