The Field Service Technician I - Marine is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires wearing proper personal protective equipment and attending/completing required technician training classes. The technician will maintain a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer's specifications. Key duties include diagnosing and performing designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The role emphasizes working in a neat and orderly fashion, continuously seeking improvements in work methods, the work area, and safety standards. The technician will inspect components to maximize parts reuse for cost control and complete required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and account for time. Monitoring job expenses against repair estimates and communicating any potential cost overruns to the supervisor are crucial. The position requires approaching work positively, maintaining supportive conduct, and contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while upholding safety and quality expectations. Additionally, the role may involve training and mentoring others, and temporarily assuming supervisory duties as necessary.
