About The Position

The Marine Field Technician diagnoses, troubleshoots, and performs intermediate-level mechanical and electrical repairs and complete overhauls on marine engines and propulsion systems. The position is based in Elkridge, Maryland, and works the first shift. The starting compensation range is $33.22–$49.94 per hour. Carter Machinery offers a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for experienced new hires, paid in two equal installments at hire and after 90 days; eligibility depends on marine field experience.

Requirements

Strong mechanical background and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose, adjust, and repair malfunctions.
Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
Excellent customer satisfaction skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office products, and service software required for the position.
Ability to work additional hours to meet business and customer demands.
Willingness to travel or work out of town as needed.
Strong organization and workload-prioritization skills while providing excellent customer service.
Excellent driving record.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver items up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects.
Ability to repeatedly reach, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and climb beside, onto, and under a variety of equipment.
Vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
