The Field Service Technician I - Crane is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations, and wearing proper personal protective equipment. This role requires attending and successfully completing required technician training classes, and maintaining a necessary set of tools for job performance to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components to manufacturer's specifications. The technician will diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The position involves working in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways to improve methods of work, work areas, and safety standards. Responsibilities include inspecting components to ensure maximum parts are reused to control repair costs, completing required documentation using appropriate software to document repairs and account for repair times, and monitoring job expenses versus repair estimates, informing the supervisor of any cost overruns prior to job completion. The role requires approaching work in a positive manner, maintaining conduct supportive of the team, and contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations. Training and/or mentoring others in the department, and temporarily assuming the supervisor's position as necessary, are also part of the role. Other duties as assigned.
