The Field Service Technician I - Crane is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role involves attending and completing required technician training, maintaining a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer's specifications. The technician will diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. They are expected to work in a neat and orderly fashion, continuously seeking improvements in work methods, work areas, and safety standards. The role also includes inspecting components to maximize parts reuse for cost control, completing required documentation using appropriate software, monitoring job expenses against repair estimates, and communicating any potential cost overruns to the supervisor. A positive approach, supportive conduct, and contribution to team efforts are essential. The technician may also train or mentor others and temporarily assume supervisory duties as necessary.
