About The Position

Completes preventative maintenance and basic repair activities on generators or their components at customer sites, with the level of direction appropriate to the work. The role is with Cummins’s Distribution Business in Charlotte, NC, and involves working on power generation products, performing maintenance and repairs, and interacting professionally with customers. The technician maintains detailed service records, follows Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, develops and maintains certifications on Cummins products, and maintains their own tools. Entry-level work may focus on preventative maintenance or basic generator repairs and diagnostics, with direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

Requirements

Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
High-voltage and low-voltage experience.
Ability to perform electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision, with hands-on exposure to power generation products.
Basic diesel engine experience.
Minimal workshop-related experience.
Basic knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
A current valid driving license or permit; must be 18 years old with two years of driving experience.
A five-year motor vehicle report free from major violations.

Nice To Haves

Apprentice-trained Power Generation/Electrical Technician.
Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
Current relevant electrical certification.
