About The Position

Crown Equipment Corporation is seeking knowledgeable, customer-focused technicians to service lift trucks. The Field Service Mechanic troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs Crown and other makes of lift trucks, performs planned maintenance at customer locations, maintains a service van and its inventory, and completes job paperwork. The position is primarily first shift, with 40 hours per week plus overtime. Field Service Technicians are provided a company vehicle.

Requirements

• Less than 2 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
• Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes.
• Ability to read and understand service manuals, plan, and follow through.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Good written and verbal communication and customer care skills.
• Technical degree.
• Previous lift truck repair experience.
• Welding experience.
• Knowledge of various types of testing equipment.
• Familiarity with common hand tools, electrical and air tools, a torch, an arc welder, and various testing equipment.
• Industry-related training.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Crown and other makes of lift trucks.
• Perform assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks.
• Maintain a service van and its inventory.
• Process paperwork after completing each job.
