About The Position

Field Service Controls Technicians apply electrical and controls knowledge to install, commission, troubleshoot, and service industrial automation systems at customer facilities. This role requires strong technical expertise, customer-facing professionalism, and the ability to travel to customer sites to support machine startup, debugging, and ongoing service needs. Our goal is to exceed customer expectations by delivering reliable field support and exceptional service.

Requirements

  • Must be professional, proactive and positive, with internal and external customers and coworkers.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of electrical installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot existing installations.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to use hand/power tools and possess basic understanding of machining tools.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer, keyboard, and various software programs.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision.
  • Good presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years’ experience in the electrical trade is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, and commission electrical control panels, field devices, and automation equipment at customer sites according to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related issues on industrial machinery in the field.
  • Interpret and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and pneumatic logic diagrams to diagnose and resolve system issues.
  • Support machine startup, customer buyoffs, FAT/SAT activities, and system validation at customer facilities.
  • Provide onsite technical support, service, and training to customers as required.
  • Perform minor mechanical assembly, adjustments, drilling, tapping, and system modifications as needed to support commissioning and service activities.
  • Document service activities, corrective actions, and system changes for internal records and customer reports.
  • Provide internal technical feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams regarding field issues, improvements, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, customer site policies, and Invio procedures.
  • Travel extensively within North America (and internationally as required) to support customer installations and service needs.
