About The Position

This position visits customers and prospective customers to sell and take orders for feed, fertilizer, seed, farm supplies, and other products and services. The role specializes in agronomy or industry sales and reports to the Agronomy Division Manager. The position is based in the Franklin County area, including Wirtz, Virginia, and surrounding areas. The salary range is $60,000–$80,000.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
At least two years of agricultural experience.
Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel up to 80% of the week; travel may include overnight stays for events and trade shows.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Solicit sales from customers in assigned areas and commodities through field work.
Coordinate sales efforts, prospect lists, product pricing and availability, delivery schedules, and credit.
Attend meetings within the sales area to support sales and public relations.
Provide technical service and recommendations to customers.
Handle customer complaints and concerns.
Maintain records and reports of visits to customers and prospects.
Maintain and regularly update prospect lists, including prospects’ needs and visits.
Submit weekly field work reports and expense vouchers to the manager.
Organize, conduct, and assist with commodity meetings.
Understand and administer the credit policy with customers and prospective customers.
Set strategic direction, maintain a budget, and manage assigned accounts.
Attend store meetings and training sessions, and read trade magazines and manufacturers’ literature to gain product knowledge.
Assist in coordinating deliveries.
Perform other duties as assigned.
