About The Position

Harper is an AI-native commercial insurance company in San Francisco. We are rebuilding the entire business as software, with the goal of turning expert human judgment into compute. We have experienced significant growth and operate at a fast pace with high standards. This role reports into the Head of Partnerships and focuses on field marketing and partnerships. The primary responsibility is to be in the market, creating presence, activating partners, testing conversion strategies, and reporting on outcomes, rather than developing strategy from a desk. Travel is a significant component of this job, involving in-person engagement with partners and buyers to pressure-test messaging, execute field plays, and translate insights into actionable strategies for the team. The role emphasizes proving the motion in person, even if revenue is not immediately generated.

Requirements

  • 2 years in field marketing, partnerships, growth, demand generation, BD, GTM, or a high-intensity startup role, with demonstrated ownership (startup experience weighted heavily).
  • Evidence of ability to own messy work end-to-end.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and context-switch rapidly.
  • Track record of delivering under pressure with high standards.
  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate immediately.

  • Experience in insurance, fintech, or regulated industries.
  • Prior work with founders or small teams.
  • Familiarity with AI/automation tools and workflows.
  • Prior startup or 0→1 experience.

Responsibilities

  • Show up, run the play, learn what converts, and document findings.

  • Activate partners that produce signal, focusing on tracked outcomes over meetings and logos without follow-through.
  • Run a simple scoreboard tracking activity, meetings, referrals, and conversion.
  • Close the feedback loop by turning field insights into messaging, collateral, and handoffs for the rest of the team.
  • Experiment rapidly, measuring results to double down on successful plays or eliminate unsuccessful ones.
  • Own outcomes within the assigned area, fixing targeting, messaging, channel, or handoffs when a motion is not progressing.
  • Focus on movement and measurable signal, not just event attendance, ensuring tracked conversions or signal generation.
