Field Execution Partner, AI Field Engineering

Fireworks•San Mateo, CA
•$210,000 - $256,000

About The Position

Fireworks is seeking a technical, field-tested operator to serve as the dedicated execution and enablement partner for its AI Field Engineering (AFE) team. As part of Revenue Operations, this individual contributor will design programs and lead change initiatives that support a consistent, effective AFE organization as the company scales. The role pairs technical credibility from prior experience in technical pre-sales with business-operations rigor and program discipline. It also involves applying AI fluency to bring agentic workflows into AFEs’ day-to-day work. Success is measured by AFE outcomes, including time to first technical win and ramp compliance for new hires, as well as productivity across the ramped team. The position reports to the Head of GTM Enablement, is based in AMER, and involves approximately 15–20% travel for team events and trainings.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience, including significant time as an AFE, Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or in a similar technical pre-sales role.
  • Technical depth in AI/ML or developer infrastructure and credibility coaching technical sellers who work with technical buyers.
  • A track record of driving change across a team and the rigor to define, track, and act on metrics that demonstrate results.
  • Ability to develop content and facilitate live sessions for technical audiences, including new-hire cohorts and experienced practitioners.
  • Personally built AI agents or applications using prompting, no-code, low-code, or code to improve seller or operational productivity; an engineering degree is not required.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and a high-ownership, high-growth startup environment.
  • Based in AMER and willing to travel approximately 15–20%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a first- or second-line leader of a technical pre-sales team, or as Chief of Staff to a GTM leader.
  • AFE, SA, or SE experience at an AI/ML infrastructure, developer tools, or API-first and consumption-based business, with literacy in usage-based pricing models.
  • Prior ownership of onboarding, ramp, or enablement programs for technical sellers.
  • Fluency in enterprise sales methodologies such as Command of the Message and MEDDICC, applied to technical pre-sales.
  • Familiarity with modern enablement tooling and systems, including LMS, CMS, CRM, and conversation intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in AFE leadership forums and help shape segment go-to-market strategy alongside a Revenue Operations counterpart.
  • Drive execution of critical AFE initiatives and change-management efforts, from multi-quarter transformations to fast-turnaround improvements.
  • Design and deliver ongoing enablement for tenured AFEs, including technical training, process execution, skills workshops, and manager-led certifications.
  • Audit and continuously improve the AFE onboarding and ramp program, including the Firecademy onboarding program, and ensure consistent ramping across locations.
  • Own and measure new-hire AFE outcomes, including time to first technical win, ramp compliance, and ramp productivity.
  • Identify effective practices among top AFEs using call reviews, field conversations, and performance data, and scale them through peer showcases, POC reviews, and a curated call library.
  • Share field insights and best practices with the broader go-to-market team.
  • Design and ship AI agents for AFE workflows, such as POC preparation, evaluation design, and technical objection handling.

Benefits

  • Work on challenging AI infrastructure problems, including low-latency inference and scalable model serving.
  • Work with cutting-edge technology that affects how businesses and developers use AI globally.
  • Opportunity for ownership and impact in a fast-growing team.
  • Collaborate with engineers and AI researchers.
