About The Position

YBI Recruiting is hiring an Equipment Mechanic on behalf of an established U.S. manufacturing company that builds and services specialized equipment used in utilities, telecommunications, construction, and infrastructure. The role involves hands-on inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of specialized heavy equipment used in power, telecom, and construction applications. The schedule can be created by the employee, with opportunities for overtime. Compensation is $36–$42 per hour depending on experience and skill. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as a mechanic or technician, with a background in heavy equipment repair.
• Experience with electrical and/or hydraulic systems.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and safely perform physical repair tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work overtime when necessary to support customers.
• Provide basic tools as needed, subject to company policies.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with aerial devices, cranes, digger derricks, hydraulic systems, or similar machinery.

Responsibilities

• Inspect specialized heavy equipment and assess its condition.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Perform unit condition inspections and prepare detailed service reports.
• Use technical resources and manuals to identify appropriate parts and repair procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
• Communicate repair needs and timelines clearly to supervisors and customers.
• Follow company safety policies and best practices.
• Accurately document completed work in service records.
• Support team goals and maintain a positive, professional attitude in interactions.
• Work overtime when necessary to support customers.
