General Matter•Paducah, KY
•$30 - $40•Onsite

About The Position

General Matter is hiring a Summer Field Engineer Intern to work in Paducah, Kentucky, during active construction of its flagship uranium enrichment facility. The intern will connect design and field execution by helping translate drawings and specifications into installed work, identify potential problems before they affect the schedule, and maintain records demonstrating that the plant was built correctly. The position is part of the owner's team on a nationally significant, first-of-a-kind project at the site of the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. The intern will take ownership of meaningful work scopes and work directly with superintendents, engineers, and the quality team. The role is intended for someone interested in fast-paced, high-impact construction projects. The internship lasts 12 weeks during summer 2027. The intern will work outdoors at an active construction site in Paducah and may need to work extended hours and weekends. Compensation is $30–$40 per hour, depending on the candidate's current standing in school. Interns receive a monthly housing stipend and are eligible for overtime pay.
