About The Position

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service) at United Rentals, you will maintain and repair complex equipment with limited or no supervision, working safely and professionally. The role includes servicing rental and customer-owned equipment at customer job sites and providing exceptional customer service. It offers opportunities to develop skills and potentially pursue leadership roles in the Service Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
At least 5 years of experience repairing or maintaining equipment and tools.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools, using independent judgment.
Travel to customer job sites to repair and maintain rental or customer-owned equipment.
Maintain the service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
Complete paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed, including work orders, accurately and daily.
Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
