About The Position

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Field Service Tech II) at United Rentals, you will perform safe, professional maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment. The position includes traveling to customer job sites to service rental or customer-owned equipment and providing exceptional customer service. It offers opportunities to develop toward higher Service Technician and leadership roles in the Service Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
1–2 years of experience repairing or maintaining vehicles and equipment, or graduation from trade school.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
Own tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Safely maintain and repair complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Travel to customer job sites to repair and maintain rental or customer-owned equipment.
Keep the service vehicle clean and professional.
Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
Complete and maintain paperwork or electronic documentation of work performed, including work orders, accurately and promptly each day.
Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
