About The Position

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) at United Rentals, you will perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. The role involves servicing rental or customer-owned equipment at customer job sites and providing exceptional customer service. The position offers potential career progression to higher Service Technician levels and leadership roles in the Service Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
3–5 years of experience repairing or maintaining equipment and tools.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Safely maintain and repair complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
Travel to customer job sites to repair and maintain rental or customer-owned equipment.
Keep the service vehicle clean and professional.
Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
Maintain complete and timely daily paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed, including work orders.
Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
