The Field Data Specialist independently travels to commercial properties, such as shopping centers, warehouses, and office parks, to collect and document precise property data. The role involves driving or flying to sites, taking measurements, using 3D cameras and laser measurement tools, and entering information into specialized software. Data collected includes building measurements; sprinkler and HVAC locations; windows, signage, and landscaping; utility meters, dumpsters, and parking details; and other interior and exterior features. Most of the work consists of gathering data, taking measurements, and entering information accurately. The specialist communicates with property managers to coordinate access and arrival times, and also reaches out to a Regional Manager, trainers, mentors, and peers when needed. Communication is generally remote, brief, and professional. The role offers substantial autonomy in organizing daily work and requires comfort working independently. This is a 100% travel position. Travel is mostly regional, though not exclusively, with out-of-state travel Monday through Friday and the employee home most weekends. The employee uses their own reliable vehicle capable of carrying a 6-foot ladder and handling long-distance travel. Major travel costs—including lodging, fuel, meals, and mileage—are covered. Equipment and tools are provided. Company-sponsored drone training and the opportunity to earn an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification are also offered, with training, certification costs, and equipment provided. There are opportunities for growth, mentoring others, and potential movement into other departments. ID Plans has supported the commercial real estate industry for over 25 years, providing data used by property owners and managers.
