Field Claims Adjuster - Auto Damage - Citrus Heights, CA
About The Position
Progressive is hiring a field auto damage claims adjuster to serve as a point of contact for customers and direct and make decisions about the vehicle repair process from beginning to end. The adjuster manages an independent inventory, works closely with body shops and other parties to negotiate repair pricing, and assesses liability. The role calls for leadership and conflict management skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service. This field position includes access to a company car and frequent driving within an assigned geographical area. Adjusters may cover assignments outside that area and may occasionally be required to report to an office. Candidates must reside within the Roseville, Folsom, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Antelope, or Rancho Cordova, California area.
Requirements
- One of the following experience and education combinations: at least four years of relevant work experience, including one year of appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience; an associate degree and at least three years of relevant work experience, including one year of appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience; or a bachelor's degree and at least one year of appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Must comply with Progressive's driving standards and/or policies.

Responsibilities
- Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines.
- Negotiate the repair process with body shops.
- Document claim information and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws.
- Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolve claims without payments.
- Review and determine the validity of supplement requests.
