Field Claims Adjuster - Auto Damage - Roseville, CA
About The Position
Progressive is hiring an auto damage claims adjuster to serve as the point of contact for customers and direct and make decisions about the vehicle repair process from beginning to end. The adjuster manages an individual claim inventory while working independently, collaborates with body shops and others to negotiate repair pricing, assesses liability, and provides customer service. This is a field position with access to a company car and frequent driving within an assigned geographical area. Workload may require covering assignments outside that area, and occasional reporting to an office may be required. Candidates must reside in the Roseville, Folsom, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Antelope, or Rancho Cordova, California area.
Requirements
- At least four years of relevant work experience, including one year of appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience; alternatively, an associate degree and at least three years of relevant experience including one year of appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience; or a bachelor's degree and at least one year of appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive's driving standards and/or policies.
- Candidates must reside within the Roseville, Folsom, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, Antelope, or Rancho Cordova, California area.

Responsibilities
- Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total-loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines.
- Negotiate the repair process with body shops.
- Document claim information and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws.
- Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolve claims without payments.
- Review and determine the validity of supplement requests.
