Field Claims Adjuster - Auto Damage - Arden Hills, MN
About The Position
Progressive is hiring a field auto damage claims adjuster to serve as the point of contact for customers and direct and make decisions about the vehicle repair process from beginning to end. The adjuster manages an independent inventory, works closely with body shops and others to negotiate repair pricing, and assesses liability. The role calls for leadership and conflict-management skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service. This is a field position with access to a company car and frequent driving within an assigned geographical area. Adjusters may cover assignments outside their assigned area and may occasionally be required to report to an office.
Requirements
- At least four years of relevant work experience, including one year of appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience; alternatively, an associate degree and at least three years of relevant work experience, including one year of appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience; or a bachelor's degree and at least one year of appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive's driving standards and/or policies.
- Leadership and conflict-management skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines.
- Negotiate the repair process with body shops.
- Document claim information and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws.
- Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolve claims without payments.
- Review and determine the validity of supplement requests.
