About The Position

Teradyne is seeking a motivated Field Application Engineer focused on System Level Testing (SLT) to develop, debug, and deploy test solutions for digital, high-speed digital, system-on-chip, mixed-signal, and analog semiconductor devices. The role involves working collaboratively and independently to develop practical application solutions, build expertise in SLT system integration, and create test-program software, often in collaboration with others. The engineer will analyze problems and recommend solutions on Teradyne SLT platforms to optimize customer throughput, understand and improve customer test processes, and recommend improvements to test coverage and quality. The role also includes discovering customer requirements and contributing to conceptual designs for hardware, software, and test-cell integration, including electrical and mechanical schematics and PCB and hardware design inputs. The Field Application Engineer will develop techniques and designs for semiconductor-device characterization and testing, demonstrate tester capabilities for customer evaluations, and assist customers with tester operation and capabilities. The position includes providing training, technical exchanges, and technical papers, while building strong technical customer relationships and maintaining a general understanding of SLT industry trends, competitive products, and product positioning. The role is based in Austin, Texas, and requires at least 25% domestic and international travel.
