About The Position

The Field Welder at Viva Railings welds and fabricates railing products to the company’s standards. The role involves interpreting project blueprints, performing TIG, Stick, and other welding, and completing field installation welds, including sheeting and posts. The welder works with the field labor crew to deliver efficient, high-quality installations and uses equipment and materials responsibly to meet project budgets and customer expectations. Deburring and grinding are performed as needed to achieve the required surface finish. The position requires travel to job sites up to 300 miles away.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of TIG welding experience.
• Previous experience working on construction sites.
• Familiarity with power tools.
• Understanding of construction site safety procedures.
• Ability to safely use and lift equipment weighing 50 pounds.
• Ability to work standing for up to 10 hours per day.
• Willingness to travel to job sites up to 300 miles away.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current and valid welding certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project blueprints and execute work accurately in accordance with Viva Railings' standards.
• Perform TIG, Stick, and other welding according to project requirements.
• Execute field installation welds, including sheeting and posts.
• Select appropriate fillers using experience and project guidelines.
• Collaborate with field labor crews to support efficient, high-quality installations.
• Manage resources in accordance with budget parameters and customer expectations.
• Perform deburring and grinding as needed to achieve the required surface texture.
• Travel to job sites located up to 300 miles away.
