The Field Account Manager exceeds sales and profit targets in a designated territory by implementing sales and marketing programs and establishing short- and long-term sales strategies. The role drives growth by securing profitable new accounts through industry research, networking, and proactive prospecting. It requires operating a company or personal vehicle consistently for more than 50% of the average work week; selected candidates must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). The position is based in a comfortable indoor work environment, includes frequent face-to-face customer visits, and typically involves overnight travel less than 10% of the time. The position independently manages sales and customer retention initiatives, plans and reports on sales activities, develops account pipelines, and applies sales strategies to achieve sales and margin goals. It uses Salesforce reporting and data analysis to identify territory growth opportunities and works with inside sales to support business development. The role may oversee projects and assignments and contribute to employees’ professional development, but does not have hiring or firing authority. The role typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 5–8 years of related experience, or a master’s degree and 3–5 years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, business-to-business sales experience using consultative or solution-based selling techniques, and Salesforce proficiency.
