Mandate: Under the manager's supervision, the Project Engineer / Reliability Specialist will be responsible for overseeing maintenance engineering projects while conducting analyses and reliability projects for building equipment at Pratt & Whitney Canada facilities. The Project Manager must be organized and motivating. They must demonstrate a great capacity for adaptation, ease of communication, and good leadership. Furthermore, due to the nature of their role, they must be able to precisely define the scope, objectives, and steps necessary for project completion. These qualities will enable them to perform their assigned duties, which include: Carrying out engineering projects across the company's various sites (may be required to travel to sites targeted by projects) while respecting costs, deadlines, and the assigned mandate; Responsible for project delivery in compliance with the schedule, budget, submission process, and expected deliverables; Manage contractors for the execution of maintenance projects, which includes: Risk analysis, application of company Health & Safety rules (cardinal rules) within the framework of their projects, issuance of work permits, schedule monitoring, monitoring of work execution, and project closure; In charge of projects arising from requests from both the maintenance group and the engineering group; Coordinate, communicate, and document the work under their responsibility; Must work in close collaboration with internal clients; Read technical plans and write meeting minutes and/or work progress reports. In addition, the person in this role will also analyze and implement improvements and archive equipment service reports. Conduct research on the history of breakdowns and implement solutions regarding parts management, suppliers, etc. These qualities will enable them to perform their assigned duties, which include: Research and implement solutions based on best practices in maintenance; Lead and facilitate operational reliability clinics and coordinate the implementation of solutions (CFO); Provide coaching and guidance on best practices related to reliability to the maintenance technician team, in collaboration with maintenance coordinators / plant managers; Active participation in the plant's continuous performance improvement programs for reliability; Be a role model in terms of health and safety and reinforce safe behaviors in the plant; Be a role model in terms of rigor and proactivity, ensure guidance in the execution of preventive maintenance; Analyze maintenance results and design action plans to eliminate the root causes of recurring failures using appropriate analysis tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in building engineering or a relevant field (primarily electrical or mechanical engineering), or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the maintenance and reliability of equipment, as well as mechanical and electrical building installations.
  • Mastery of French, both oral and written.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, project management, or building/electromechanical equipment maintenance.
  • Mastery of preventive maintenance concepts.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools (Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of CNESST rules applicable to project execution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite, including MS Project.
  • Knowledge of SAP software, PM module.
