The Ferrous Load Inspector helps provide a positive customer experience by greeting incoming drivers, identifying and inspecting loads from incoming trucks, and directing trucks and customers around the facility. The role includes checking loads for quality, weight, packaging, hazardous materials, and safety; ensuring materials are dumped in the proper locations; reporting inspections to scale operators so customers are paid correctly; and preparing inspection reports and metal tickets as needed. This is an active, outdoor position with exposure to moving mechanical parts, loud noise, and all weather conditions. The inspector sits, stands, and walks for extended periods; frequently bends, kneels, and lifts; and may work in confined spaces. Ear protection is required in loud areas.
