About The Position

The Feed Mill Worker position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the feed mill. This role involves a variety of tasks including cleaning, assisting with ingredient unloading, groundskeeping, and operating equipment. The position requires the ability to work in various environmental conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. Successful candidates must adhere to all company health, safety, and biosecurity protocols.

Requirements

Must wear required PPE, including ear protection.
Able to work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments.
Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.
Ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling.
Ability to work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.
Able to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guildelines, including an agreement to avoid any avian species.
Able to lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance.
Stand, sit, walk, climb ladder/stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.
Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Experience with landscaping equipment such as mowers and trimmers.
Experience with air-driven equipment like blow guns.
Experience operating high-pressure water hoses.
Experience operating a PIT (Powered Industrial Truck).

Responsibilities

Sweep and clean assigned areas of the mill and sign off when completed.
Assist with ingredient unloading activities, such as unloading rail cars/trucks.
Clean up feed spills.
Perform groundskeeping duties, including using landscaping equipment like mowers and trimmers.
Use and maintain air-driven equipment, like blow guns, for cleaning activities.
Use high-pressure water hoses to wash down and clean areas of the feed mill.
Use PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) to move pallets of ingredients.
Maintain good housekeeping, including service areas.
Communicate to all levels of Operations, including customers and vendors, orally and in writing where required.
Follow and operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.
Complete all other tasks assigned by management.
