Federal Growth Lead, Combatant Commands

Sitreps•Washington, NY
•$200,000 - $250,000

About The Position

The Federal Growth Lead will own the full sales cycle across the unified combatant commands, from opening relationships through demonstrations, procurement, and close. The role focuses on building a portfolio across commands without a prescribed sub-territory; the hire can begin with the relationships they already have and expand from there. The company develops AI-native software intended to replace legacy systems used by federal agencies, and its systems are already in use across federal civilian agencies and within the Department of War. The role requires navigating the distinct operating and acquisition environments of combatant commands, including joint staffs, urgent decision cycles, and rapid acquisition pathways. The position is an individual-contributor role involving prospecting, quota ownership, software demonstrations, account development, and deal execution. It is preferably based in New York or Washington, DC, though remote work anywhere in the U.S. is considered. Travel is about 40% for someone based in NYC or DC and 50% or more for someone remote, including CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in or with combatant commands, such as on a joint staff, as a civilian, or through selling into them.
  • A record of building accounts from zero and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals against a quota.
  • Fluency with COCOM procurement requirements, rapid acquisition authorities, and buying cycles.
  • Willingness to work as an individual contributor, prospecting, carrying an ambitious quota, and owning deals from first call through transition to delivery.
  • Comfort demonstrating software independently.
  • Working fluency with CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • U.S. citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • An active U.S. security clearance; TS/SCI is preferred.

  • Strong existing relationships within a specific combatant command, preferably SOCOM, INDOPACOM, or EUCOM.
  • Experience in coalition or multinational environments.
  • Experience with OTA consortia such as NSTXL or Tradewinds.

Responsibilities

  • Own the combatant command sales cycle end to end, from outbound prospecting through demonstrations, proposals, negotiation, and close.
  • Build strategic account plans and a repeatable approach across the combatant commands.
  • Navigate COCOM rapid acquisition pathways, including OTAs, urgent operational needs processes, and component-command task orders.
  • Build direct relationships with staff leadership and program offices supporting COCOM missions.
  • Lead discovery sessions and product demonstrations, often for coalition and multinational stakeholders, without sales engineering support.
  • Travel to command headquarters, conferences, and partner-nation engagements.
