About The Position

Coordinate and implement BMW Group’s political and lobbying strategy in the US to support government affairs and political communication. Achieve strategic political goals by managing inside-out advocacy and outside-in early warning of the US political landscape. Build and maintain networks with political institutions, NGOs, and key stakeholders; manage external relations and lobbyists. Advise and support BMW leadership, including CEO and board members, representing BMW in legislative and regulatory matters. Collaborate internally and externally on policy issues, seeking strategic alliances to advance BMW’s position and mitigate risks. Monitor legislation and regulations on vehicle technologies, safety, telematics, privacy, autonomous vehicles, AI, and data sharing; share insights within BMW. Act as a key advocate for BMW North America’s technology portfolio, working closely with internal teams to align policy and product strategies.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in local, state, and federal government affairs, political operations, policy expertise, international relations, business/technology.
  • Understanding policy, privacy, data, telematics policy.
  • Ability to take complex and complicated issues and translate them into understandable language for policy makers.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree.
  • 1 - 3 years working on Capitol Hill, relevant trade associations, and/or Administration.
  • 1 - 3 years in private sector/related industry.
