About The Position

The Director of Federal Government Affairs will be a key member of MiniMed’s U.S. Government Affairs team, leading federal advocacy efforts and reporting to the Head of Office. This role offers a unique opportunity to help build and shape a best-in-class government affairs function at a growing company. The Director will drive federal strategy, policy prioritization, and relationship-building across Congress, the Administration, and key external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of government affairs experience, or 8+ years with an advanced degree.
  • 7+ years of experience managing people, programs, or projects.

  • Experience in medical technology, life sciences, or healthcare.
  • Experience handling high-stakes policy or reputational challenges.
  • Familiarity with PACs and grassroots advocacy programs.
  • Adaptability and ability to quickly learn new subject areas.
  • Strong leadership, integrity, accountability, and composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of MiniMed’s federal government affairs strategy.
  • Partner with internal teams to align advocacy efforts with business objectives and drive strategic outcomes.
  • Represent MiniMed before federal policymakers, trade associations, industry partners, and patient/provider organizations.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and political developments; provide timely insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify and mitigate policy, political, and reputational risks.
  • Collaborate across the Government Affairs function to support enterprise-wide U.S. strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal lobbying and ethics regulations.
  • Manage external consultants and contract lobbyists.
  • Travel as needed.
