About The Position

As the Senior Manager, Federal Government Affairs, you will serve as a primary driver of Shipt’s federal legislative and regulatory agenda in Washington, D.C. Working in close daily partnership with the VP of Government Affairs, you will execute a high-impact advocacy strategy. You will navigate a complex federal landscape, manage external consultants, and ensure Shipt’s voice is heard on critical issues. While no two days are alike, you will drive federal policy execution across a diverse portfolio, ranging from labor and workforce modernization, to marketplace governance and food security initiatives. In addition to direct engagement, you will manage our participation in industry trade associations and strategic alliances to ensure Shipt’s priorities are represented. You will design engagement strategies with the Executive Branch (including the DOL, FTC, and USDA) and Congress. Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in federal policy, government affairs, or advocacy work.
  • Deep understanding of the inner workings of Capitol Hill and federal agencies, with a proven track record as a federal legislative or executive branch staffer.
  • Ability to translate proposed and pending federal legislation or regulations into actionable business intelligence for both policymakers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage external lobbying teams and consultants to ensure strategic alignment and high ROI.
  • Experience managing engagement with industry groups and multi-stakeholder coalitions to support broader policy goals.
  • Experience working with a gig economy company and/or deep labor or food policy experience.
  • Based full-time in Washington, D.C.
