About The Position

The Global Affairs team handles public policy and regulatory issues globally, developing strategies to enter new markets and innovate by navigating complex regulatory landscapes. This creates an environment for Netflix to produce exciting content and world-class innovations. This opportunity is for a Manager to support U.S. federal policy within the U.S. & Canada ("UCAN") Global Affairs team. The role is based in Washington, D.C., with travel to Netflix offices in Los Angeles, New York, and other locations as needed. The UCAN Global Affairs team advocates for a legislative and regulatory environment conducive to Netflix’s growth in the U.S. and Canada and acts as a strategic partner to internal business groups. The successful candidate will be involved in U.S. policy advocacy related to content creation, production, and delivery, helping to advance business and policy objectives, provide thought leadership, collaborate with partners, and serve as an internal resource.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, including roles such as a legislative aide in the U.S. Congress, federal agency, consultancy, law firm, and/or civil society.
  • Experience working on technology, media, and telecom policy and knowledge of these industry sectors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating successfully with multiple teams.
  • Excellent judgment, research skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of U.S. Public Policy to develop strategy, advocacy plans, memoranda, talking points, and presentations on policy priorities.
  • Monitor congressional hearings, markups, and other legislative developments on a wide range of issues impacting the business.
  • Conduct legislative research and analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams as well as external consultants, trade associations, and other stakeholders to develop strategy and proactively advocate for Netflix’s interests on a variety of policy issues.
  • Advise internal teams on key policy developments and their impact on the business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, staff, and third parties.
  • Attend company events, trade association meetings, congressional briefings, and industry receptions.
