Requirements

• Strong decision making skills and ability to bring creativity to underwriting risks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Post-Secondary education in a related field.
• 2-3 years underwriting experience.
• CIP designation or actively pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and evaluation of risks within the farm portfolio.
• Work within defined limits of authority, consistently provide high quality underwriting decisions that support the achievement of Heartland financial targets in accordance with the Operational Plan.
• Review and transact renewals, endorsements, and cancellations within our farm portfolio
• Provide support to Senior Farm Underwriters as needed in order to achieve service standards.
• Negotiation of contract terms.
• Proactively manage business development opportunities.
• Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
