About The Position

CoBank interns get real-life exposure to the daily duties of their group. They spend the summer as a valued member of their respective team, learning business skills and assisting with a variety of projects that have an impact on the bank’s operations. An additional focus of the summer intern will be to complete a capstone project that will seek to add value to the team they are supporting. Over your 10-week paid internship, our Lease Operations Intern will learn how to perform critical lease origination processes. They will learn how CoBank interacts with various partners and customers across the Farm Credit System to deliver different leasing products and programs. This intern will gain valuable insight to the workflow and process management across the Leasing organization as well as operational excellence and digital first focused continuous improvement efforts. They will work closely with both our associates and leadership team to identify and deliver on a capstone project related to improving process effectiveness and efficiency. Banking Operations within Farm Credit Leasing (FCL) at CoBank supports the end-to-end origination and servicing of lease financing solutions for agricultural producers, cooperatives, and rural infrastructure providers across the United States. As a wholly owned subsidiary of CoBank and part of the Farm Credit System, FCL delivers flexible leasing options for equipment, vehicles, and facilities - helping customers preserve capital, manage cash flow, and maintain operational efficiency. Interns in this group rotate through key operational functions, gaining hands-on experience in workflow and process management, digital-first initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts, while contributing to a capstone project that enhances process effectiveness and customer experience. This role is hybrid, interns will come into their designated office at least 3 days a week. Interns work approximately 40-hours per week.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in and working towards a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Agribusiness, or a related discipline and in good academic standing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Aptitude for learning other software applications
  • Ability to perform research across multiple systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
